I started teaching in my early 20s as a way to supplement my income, but quickly fell in love with it. However, my professional experience speaks for itself, having been hired by prominent producers, agents, musical directors, composers, and more. Your teacher should have similar experiences.

Learning to play the drums is a personal journey, so finding a teacher with whom you have a good rapport is important. As a drum teacher, I take a personalised approach to teaching, tailoring my lessons to each student's unique needs and interests. I'm told I'm laid back but very professional and easy to get along with. Lessons need to be educational, but if they're not fun, there's no point. You should enjoy your time with your drum teacher.
